It is Her passion that is felt and Her warmth that makes us caring humans. It is the fire within each of us that gives us our humanity, for even the apathetic burns a cold flame within.It is Kiluea that houses the sun until its rest is complete and its rejuvenative properties are renewed and readied for another day. As dawn approaches and you lay in your bed with the house surrounding you, blocking the natural order of morning, consider what you miss out on by confining yourself inside. Shelter can be necessary, yes, but why contain yourself to a darkened box when the sun greets you in the morning? At the very least, let the fullness of the sun at its morning rebirth find you through an uncovered East window. Let the natural cycle of morning fire awaken your fire within and you will begin to understand Pele's purpose in your life.Just as it takes a while after dawn for the birds to begin their daily chatter and the flora to soak up the drops of dew left from the night, so it takes a bit for you to properly wake. The morning was never intended to be a time of noisy alarms to dictate a moment in which you should wake and ready yourself in a hurry, just as the morning of life was never intended for you to instantly walk and talk. If you follow the natural progression of morning, both in the day and in life, you will find the day already set for you.The fire of the sun radiates through your window and His beams gently tap you on the shoulder as if to say, "Wake sleep child and feel the warmth of love call you to another day." This is the moment you should begin your morning. As the sun stretches His beams of light as they rise above the horizon, so should you follow His example and stretch slow and deliberate.As the dew has washed and readied the flora for the day, follow in suit and find your own source to wash the sleep from your waking being. Take a soothing shower, letting the fall of water wash away the troubles from your mind. Soak in a tub of water and feel the buoyancy of your body as the warm water provides a monetary memory of the safety of the womb from which you came. If you are lucky enough to be by the ocean, spend the first moments of sunrise watching the glory of Divine Light announce the start of a new day. Then wash yourself clean in the saline waters of the ocean, fully realizing how small you are and how much power lay in the waters that cleanse you.And so in the oddest and most contradictory of ways, you have allowed the fire within to begin its daily blaze. But after all, is not all of nature a contradiction of harmonious opposites which create a sweet song of clashes and dissonance that both soothes and aggravates to get the passion and purpose working together? Now cleansed by the water and freshly invigorated by the warmth of the sun, the fire within is re-ignited and the passion of the soul retains its drive.Fire and Passion are not only the heart and soul of Pele, but of your instinct as well. The majority of mankind has lost their instinct. If you cannot start a fire out of the natural materials around you, how do you expect to kindle the fire within? There are no matches or lighters for the soul. That which has always been sparked by thought alone and desire to create in a Divine way has been given over to the ways of science, and mankind has lost the will or desire to create out of pure necessity.As a species, humanity has become just a smoldering ember of a once firey expression of life, but even a mere ember can act as a catalyst for a raging inferno. Just ask Pele. All you need is desire. It is time to lose yourself once again in the natural world and forsake the abomination called technology. You cannot be passionate in a text message. You cannot feel the wound in the eyes of a person over a video call, and you cannot connect soul to soul without the full attention of another person. Everywhere I go, I see people in groups who, at one time, would be deep in conversation, but instead they stand bowing their heads to the god of technology. Their fingers mindlessly clicking away at buttons on a phone. They seem only to acknowledge this object instead of the beautiful souls around them and when they do talk, it is not love or passion their hearts and minds expel, but anger and irritation and complaint about what they saw on the screen they cannot live without.What would you do if the whole grid went down and communication had to revert back to person to person contact? Could you look another in the eye without the feat of bearing your soul? Would you be more than untroubled at the idea of allowing them to fully see the fire within through the window that is your eyes? Give it some thought and put down the electronic devices for just a day. Could you do it? Could you excite the furnace within and let your fire blaze? For to bring that ember to a full-blown firestorm is to truly live and be awake.From Sand to Rock to Mountain PeakFrom dust you were formed and to dust you shall return. In the meantime you must stay grounded and in touch with the earth that formed you. Though stable enough, at times the earth must shift to remind you that nothing ever remains unchanged and to balance upon unsteady ground denotes the grounded soul.With the freedom and determination of spirit that water embodies and the passion and inspiration that fire emodies within each of us, it is a wonder that anyone can keep steady and grounded. But there are as many different forms of ground as there are type of people.There are many people who are but grains of sand. It takes little to move them from one spot to another and they must remain with others like them to form any solid ground. They can work together to keep their place, and when the spirit washes over them en masse, they regain their formation of sameness always waiting for the next wave. But that does not make them weak, for sand can withstand the moving and resettling of the constand flow and ebb of time and still fing themselves together as one.There are those who are as solid as rock and unmoveable. When their life becomes a seismic convulsion, they may come out changed, but they are stil solid. It is only during the unexpected movement they waver and seem to hold precariously to their place. But once the quaking stops, they reform the landscape and renew the view.Pele reminds us always of the regeneration of the foundation upon which we all stand. As the molten rock rises from the core of the planet and hardens into new land, we are shown the untameable force that is the life force of the planet.Some people could be such stable mountains and give the most wondrous of views, but they choose to remain inside the depthes of rock and stone and become caves. So difficult to reach, yet within them there is a different grounded beauty that few will find the courage to descend into and marvel at what the darkness has made flourish. Within their depths lie incomparable formations and variations of stability. The caves are also the ones who will always offer shelter from the elements, no matter how little, they are always welcoming.The mountain cliffs at the edges of the desert all have beauty etched into the faces from the wind that blows the valley sands into remarkable dunes.
